“The Group have just commenced work on an exciting new project called:-                               “The Chester-le-Street Marras”.

This, our latest project will see members researching the history of the Collieries that once dominated the skylines both in and around Chester-le-Street. Using a wide variety of resources we will be compiling a comprehensive record of these Collieries, gathering relevant facts and figures, copying photographs and documents, and collecting oral accounts from those who worked in or were associated with the mining industry. Maybe you can help or are just interested to see what we are doing. If so feel free to contact us”.
